It Will Be Worth It All

November 10th, 2010

When we see Jesus!  Do these words apply to you?  If so, take heart!  He’s coming soon!

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We’re tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God’s eternal day.

Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We’re tossed and driven on , no human help in sight;
But there is one in heav’n who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem – just go to Him in pray’r.

Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Life’s day will soon be o’er, all storms forever past,
We’ll cross the great divide, to glory, safe at last;
We’ll share the joys of heav’n – a harp, a home, a crown,
The tempter will be banished, we’ll lay our burden down.

Refrain
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

Keep on the Firing Line

November 10th, 2010

This old song speaks to Christians today.  Please READ.

  1. If you’re in the battle for the Lord and right,
    Keep on the firing line;
    If you win, my brother, surely you must fight,
    Keep on the firing line;
    There are many dangers that we all must face,
    If we die still fighting it is no disgrace;
    Cowards in the service will not find a place,
    So keep on the firing line.

    • Refrain:
      Oh, you must fight, be brave against all evil,
      Never run, nor even lag behind;
      If you would win for God and the right,
      Just keep on the firing line.
  2. God will only use the soldier He can trust,
    Keep on the firing line;
    If you’ll wear a crown then bear the cross you must,
    Keep on the firing line.
    Life is but to labor for the Master dear,
    Help to banish evil and to spread good cheer;
    Great you’ll be rewarded for your service here,
    So keep on the firing line.
  3. When we get to heaven, brother, we’ll be glad,
    Keep on the firing line;
    How we’ll praise the Savior for the call we had,
    Keep on the firing line;
    When we see the souls that we have helped to win,
    Leading them to Jesus, from the paths of sin,
    With a shout of welcome, we will all march in,
    So keep on the firing line.

Santify Me Oh Lord

October 4th, 2010

If you look back on your life, can you see God’s Hand? Did His Hand keep you from being killed or terribly injured? Was He there somewhere that you couldn’t see at the time? Did He somehow cause events that helped you in a huge way?

If you have been born again, then you know what I am talking about. Chances are that you have realized the leading of God in your life, even when you were very young. Some people can recall specific events that demonstrate to them now that God was at work in them. I know that’s what happened to me.

When I was young, my dad left my mother, me and my two brothers. We were very poor, but God took care of us. He led us to a good church that helped us with some of our physical needs, and more. God also provided someone to mentor me and take the role of a surrogate father. That man was a great influence on me and helped me in ways that only God could have brought about.

So, what should be our response to God’s Hand in our lives? I think that it should cause us to know God more. I mean to really know Him, not just know about Him. When we do this, we soon discover that He is very Holy and we are not. Realizing this, we often began to search to find out what really pleases God. This process causes us to lay aside those things in our life that take us away from Him instead of bringing us closer to Him. The Bible calls this “to be sanctified” or to be set apart. It really means to regard our life as given over to the service of God through Jesus.

Do you want to know God more? Do you want to get close to Him? Do you want to know why He created you the way He did? Do you want to know who YOU really are? If so, then begin today to ask God if you need to be set apart for Him? Here is some more help for you: http://www.miraclejesus.com/wp/testimonies/newlifepeace/set-apart-for-god/

True Love

September 24th, 2010

So many times in my life, I have felt a lack of love in me for others.  This is a definite sign that something is lacking in me as a Christian.  I had no true love.  So, in order to find out what was lacking, I began to talk to God about it.  It wasn’t long before, He showed me the fundamental problem that I have.  (Notice I said, “have”, because, to some degree, I still have this problem.)  The problem is selfishness, self centered, self-involved, …  Just take the word “self” and put anything that you want behind it, like self-pity, and that describes my problem.

When I discovered this, it was like a light coming on in my mind.  It also caused many tears in my heart.  I hurt when I think of all the things that have motivated me to serve myself instead of really serving God.  Some of the things even have “Christian” labels.  I wanted to serve God, but only if it didn’t cost me my personal self.  As I started to recognize the selfish attitudes that I had, I began to confess them to Jesus and renew my mind about that attitude.

Since I started doing this, I feel that my life is coming closer to Jesus.  The Lord, through the “inner voice” of the Holy Spirit, is influencing my motives.  Now, I am starting to learn how to love God and people in the way that He wants me to.  I don’t have the final answers yet, but I’m getting closer and closer to Christ in the process.

Here is what true love is as described in 1 Corinthians 13:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.
